U.S. Women’s National Team forward Carli Lloyd says that she would consider a career in the NFL as a kicker after a video of her kicking a 55-yard field goal went viral.
The World Cup winner, a Delran, New Jersey native, kicked the field goal at the Philadelphia Eagles preseason camp last week. She has received offers from at least two NFL teams to kick in their preseason games Thursday – an offer she had to decline because she was playing with the women’s soccer team against Portugal in the World Cup Victory Tour.
But Lloyd said that she wouldn’t rule out a move to the NFL.
"I have to really sit down and think about it. But with anything I do in my life I'm not going to go into something blindly,” she says. “I want to make sure I can actually get on to the field and practice and do the right technique. And if I can get the two-step down, then yes, it's definitely a possibility."
The U.S. Women’s National Team played Portugal at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Thursday night.
