Police say a man was fatally shot in the back in Norwood early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the scene by the Church of the Holy Nativity near Rochambeau and Bainbridge avenues around 3 a.m., where 46-year-old Edgar Perez was found with a gunshot wound.

He was transported to Montefiore Medical Center where he later died.

No arrests have been made.
