Police ID swimmer who drowned in Lake Carmel

Authorities tell News 12 the victim was Jeremy Kipnis, 54, of Redding, Connecticut.

Police have released the identity of the man who drowned in Lake Carmel this weekend.
Authorities tell News 12 the victim was Jeremy Kipnis, 54, of Redding, Connecticut.
They say Kipnis told his wife he was going to swim Saturday afternoon, but never came home.
When they arrived on the scene that night, they found his car parked at beach number 5, where there are no lifeguards.
His body was found Monday morning, about 1,000 yards off the shoreline.
Police report that Kipnis swam in Lake Carmel regularly. The cause of death still under investigation but it is not considered suspicious at this time.
