We asked, you voted -- and one of your most popular "Road Trip" spots in New Jersey is a group of towns dubbed Wildwoods.
"Well, we have beautiful beaches, some of the finest in the world," says North Wildwood Town Councilman Joseph Rullo. "We have the world famous Wildwoods boardwalk, where nine million visitors a year come with their family, allegedly there are more rides than Disney World."
Wildwood is located on the eastern shore of Cape May County and has about 5,000 year-round residents, but in the summer, tourism can make that number rise to 250,000.
The boardwalk is the center of activity for the three communities that make up the Wildwoods, consisting of Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest.
The Wildwoods are located on a barrier island, and are one of the few places you can see a full sunrise and sunset in New Jersey.

“Hit the boardwalk, hit the beaches, hit the back bays,” says Ernest “Ernie” Troiano, mayor of Wildwood. “Fishing, crabbing, amusement rides, beach surfing, snorkeling, you name it, you can do it here in Wildwood.”

The Wildwoods became a popular tourist destination back in the 1950s, and there are still motels from that time period.
There is also a lighthouse that dates back to 1874.
Ocean currents deliver fresh sand to the beaches, and parts of Wildwood Beach are several hundred yards wide.
