NYPD: Man uses shovel to break into Morris Heights pawn shop, gets away with over $6K

A man is wanted for breaking into a pawn shop in Morris Heights, getting away with thousands of dollars.
Police say the suspect, who got away with over $6,000 in cash, was caught on a surveillance camera.
Authorities say the man used a shovel to break into a pawn shop on University Avenue and West 176 Street on June 7 around 6 a.m.
Once inside, the suspect can be seen trying to make sure the door stays open, even placing the shovel in between the doorway. Minutes later he starts to take things from the counter.
Police say he got away with over $6,000 in cash, a laptop and camera.
The owner tells authorities it was his alarm company that warned him an intruder had broken in.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
