SEARINGTOWN -

Police say a home security app helped them catch a would-be burglar in Searingtown.

A resident along Birch Drive says he got an alert that motion was detected in his yard.

Police say he looked at the man’s video feed and saw a man trying to cover his security camera with an inflatable toy.

Officers later arrested Peter Lee, of Manhattan. Police say they spotted him driving in Searingtown where he refused to pull over.

Police say they found a backpack in his car containing tools and binoculars.
