Tenants of the Roosevelt Houses called for an end to violence Sunday as they remembered a man who was killed last week.
Police say Rasheed Bennett, 31, was found with a gunshot wound to his just before 3 p.m. on June 17.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Neighbors and childhood friends gathered near the building on Lewis Avenue where the father of four lived for decades.
Those who had a trouble past themselves say they want to set a positive example for the children who live in the neighborhood.
Police say the investigation into Bennett's death is ongoing.
