A New Canaan woman is working to put security cameras in Waveny Park, the place where Jennifer Dulos' car was found the day she went missing four weeks ago.
Hilary Ormond started a petition earlier this month for cameras in the park and says besides the Dulos case, there have been several concerning incidents at the park over the years.
"One can only imagine what a camera might have caught when her car was being dumped," Ormond says.
Ormond says she got 500 signatures overnight for the petition and in two days broke the 1,000 mark. She thinks cameras may have helped police in the Dulos case.
"The fact that her car had been abandoned on Lapham Road right outside or near one of the entrances to Waveny was sort of the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back," says Ormond.
Ormond says she thinks cameras should be installed at the entrances and exits of the park.
Ormond says New Canaan police and the town are considering installing cameras at the park.
