Man approaches police for help after being stabbed in University Heights

One man is in the hospital after an early morning stabbing Friday in University Heights, police say.

It happened on West 183rd Street and Davidson Avenue, where police tell News 12 a man approached them asking for help.

News 12 is told the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. when the man told police he was stabbed a couple blocks away. The man was then transported by first responders to St. Barnabas Hospital.

It’s not clear how many people were involved in the stabbing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
