A Ring doorbell camera captured two suspects who police say burglarized a Middle Island home Wednesday afternoon.
The footage shows a woman wearing sunglasses walk right into a West Bartlett Road house around 1:30 p.m. Moments later, it shows a man wearing an orange shirt. Police say he acted as lookout while the woman ransacked the home.
The homeowner, who asked to not be identified, says the burglary came to an abrupt end when his 19-year-old daughter with special needs came home from school. He says the woman broke a back and front window on the second floor in a desperate attempt to flee.
The homeowner says the suspects got away with cash, jewelry, clothing and pocketbooks. He says he doesn't care about the items that were stolen; he's just glad his daughter is safe.
Anyone with information on the case can call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
