Some scouts from Israel sprang into action Tuesday to help resuscitate a Putnam County school staff member during a performance.
The dozen scouts went to Mahopac to teach Americans about the arts, wilderness survival and education.
While performing at Lakeview Elementary School, the scouts unexpectedly put their lifesaving CPR skills to the test when the staff member stopped breathing.

Scout leaders Dor Shalit and Amit Hatan said as soon as they saw the woman suffering, they sprang into action until an ambulance arrived.

Mahopac Central School District Superintendent Dr. Anthony DiCarlo applauded the scouts for their actions and their ability to work in tandem with staff.

School officials are not releasing the staff member's identity or condition.
