Three teachers from Long Island who work for the Developmental Disabilities Institute, or DDI, spent two weeks working at a school for children with special needs in a remote village in Kenya.
Kate Schuppert, Megan Dilello and Rana Barbury focused on teaching new strategies and techniques to the school's staff.
The teachers say what amazed them the most was how the teachers in Kenya did so much with so little, including working without running water or electricity.
The trio says not only did they create memories, but they created connections with their heart. They say they would do it all again.
