Yonkers police say a man who barricaded himself in a residential neighborhood Thursday is now in custody.
The standoff began around 8 a.m. Neighbors say the man is in his 40s and lives with his parents.
His father was home at the time, according to neighbors, who saw him come out after police arrived on scene.
While News 12 was at the scene, shouting at police was heard and the man was throwing objects out of a broken window.
Police deployed a drone around the house, and were repeatedly trying to make contact with the man. Neighbors say they have had problems with him for a while.
"It started in March. He tried to light his house on fire. The SWAT team came then. Then it died down. Then this week he started threatening a lot of neighbors," says Madeline and Sara May.
The identity of the man has not been released. It was not known if he was armed or why he barricaded himself in the home.
Police tell News 12 that no charges have been filed.
