29-year-old victim identified in fatal Saint Marks Avenue shooting

The search continues for whoever shot and killed a 29-year-old man in Crown Heights Thursday night.
Police tell News 12 several people were taken into custody for questioning, but so far no one has been charged.
Meanwhile, the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Jamal Cox Simms.
News 12 is told he lived just down the block from where the shooting happened.
Around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the corner of Saint Marks Avenue and New York Avenue where they found the 29-year-old with a gunshot wound to his head. Police say it appears it all started as a fight that escalated when someone pulled out a gun. The exact circumstances around the fight are unclear.
