Connecticut is one step closer to joining the list of states offering early voting.

The state Senate passed the measure Wednesday 23 to 13.

Connecticut is one of the few states that still requires ballots to be cast on Election Day.

Voters will now decide on a constitutional amendment as early as 2022.
