WEST ISLIP -

The West Islip School District posted a letter to its website warning parents of a man who exposed himself to a student.

The alleged incident happened around 6 p.m. April 17 on Higbie Lane.

Police say the man pulled up to a teenage girl in a green pickup truck and committed a lewd act. The girl then ran home.

Police describe him as a heavyset Hispanic male, between 40 and 50 years old, with graying hair.

The school letter says Suffolk police boosted patrols in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
