Sen. Parker's office to give away free reusable bags every Wednesday in May

State Sen. Kevin Parker held a reusable-bag giveaway on Monday to make sure that low-income families would be prepared for the impending plastic bag ban.
Anyone in need of a reusable bag was invited to visit Parker's office on Monday to pick one up for free. The senator will also be holding giveaways every Wednesday in May.
The state plans to ban plastic bags by next year, as well as impose a 5-cent paper bag cost on shoppers. Parker says that using reusable bags will save taxpayers money and help to reduce the amount of waste in landfills.
