Family and friends are remembering a Stamford man who was fatally shot in Bridgeport two years ago - this as a potential suspect remains free.

Max Antoine, 33, was shot and killed at McClevy Green in Bridgeport on April 20, 2017.

Police say Antoine was an innocent bystander who was gunned down as he left a restaurant on Broad Street, becoming Bridgeport's seventh murder victim of 2017.

The victim's brother, Wilner Joseph, joined supporters Friday at the site of the shooting and asked for the public to come to a candlelight vigil.

"It was devastating," says Joseph. "Even coming here sometimes is very hard."

The vigil was set to be held at McClevy Green at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

He says the past 12 months have been a "nightmare" for him and his mother, and it's time for the killer to finally be held accountable.

Authorities say they have identified a suspect but are still waiting for the state's attorney to sign an arrest warrant.

"It is unfortunate that the family's still suffering knowing that this individual is still free to do what he wants to do," says supporter Jorge Cruz.

Joseph says a panel discussion in memory of his brother will also be held at the Boys and Girls Club in Stamford on Stillwater Avenue between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday to discuss ways to end gun violence.
