A mix of snow, sleet and rain caused a travel nightmare around the Garden State Tuesday.
Parts of northwestern New Jersey saw the brunt of Tuesday’s storm, with several inches of snow. But a majority of the state saw sleet and freezing rain.
The storm caused slick conditions on many of New Jersey’s roadways. Speed restrictions were placed on several major highways.

Gov. Phil Murphy issued a commercial vehicle travel ban on all interstates that crossed the state ahead of the storm. That ban was lifted as of Tuesday night.
New Jersey State Police reported that they responded to over 500 traffic crashes on state roadways, including an overturned bus on the New Jersey Turnpike. About 18 people were treated for minor injuries in that crash.
The icy conditions also forced the closure of several roads, including Route 440 in Woodbridge.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation says that there were about 2,500 snow plows and salt trucks out on state roadways Tuesday.
