Greenwich Selectman Peter Tesei won’t seek 7th term

Greenwich Republican First Selectman Peter Tesei announced Friday that he will not run for a seventh term this fall.
He came to the decision over the holidays, saying after a total of 32 years involved with Greenwich government, it was time for a new chapter.
Tesei has been the town's top elected official since 2007 and a decade later, won a record sixth term. He says family did a play a role in his decision and would like to spend more time with his children.
Tesei says serving as first selectman has been a great experience and he has loved every minute of the job.
“It’s just been an incredible experience to focus on keeping the town the premiere residential community that it is,” he says.
Tesei has not decided what his future plans will be, but would like to continue working with organizations or businesses that provide services to people.
