On a day when many hid inside from the freezing temperatures, dozens of activists took to the streets in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Activists say equality and justice are still missing from many communities, even decades after the civil rights movement – so that’s why they took part in the fourth annual March Against Racism.

"There are invisible prejudices in the community against immigrants, against people of color, against Muslim and Arabic-Americans," says Danielle Bullock, an organizer with Bay Ridge for Social Justice.

Participants symbolically marched from the office of the Arab-American Association of New York to the Union Church of Bay Ridge Monday.

Those involved dealt with extreme cold, but noted that other people throughout history have made much greater sacrifices for equality.
