A teen thought he lost an important, priceless item in the trash -- but the community around him made sure he would get it back.
A group of young volunteers from the Misaskim community dug, raked and tore through garbage to look for Menachem Ziskind's prized tefillah.
The sacred item is worth thousands and is used for daily Jewish prayer.
Ziskind thought he would never get it back, but word of the lost tefillah quickly spread to many people who were willing to help.
A coordinated effort by Misaskim, Councilman Chaim Deutsch and the Sanitation Department was put into action, looking through every single bag.
Once the effort got going, it took only a matter of seven minutes to find it, bringing lasting relief to the teen.
