Those in the real estate business are already feeling a boost in business thanks to the cancellation of the L train shutdown.
Properties near the L train in areas like Williamsburg have gotten a boost in attention since Gov. Andrew Cuomo called off the shutdown. Warner Lewis, a broker at Halstead Property, has been a bit more busy over the past week.
"It caught everyone by surprise, it is a gift for landlords and for sellers now," Lewis says. "There are so many more requests for people to come out here."
Lewis says while many are happy in the change of plans, there are some frustrated. "Sellers who sold a year or two ago, they are furious because of the fact that they got taken out of the top of the market," Lewis says.
Some businesses also took a hit, including a few that closed up shop in anticipation of the shutdown.
