Bridgeport family claims eviction is payback for whistleblowing on landlord

A family in Bridgeport says they're about to be evicted after claiming their landlord failed to protect his tenants from an apparent contamination in their house.
Peter and Deborah Mongillo says their son, 2-year-old Cody, has autism and suffers from lead poisoning as a result of airborne contamination from paint in their attic apartment of a multi-family home.
Peter is an auto-body prepper who just recently found work again after being laid off, while Deborah stays at home to care for their children.
The Mongillos have started a fund to get a new apartment.
The couple says the only thing they want this holiday season is to have a roof over their heads so DCF doesn't take away their children.
News 12 Connecticut contacted the landlord for comment, but has not yet received a response.
