School ditches uniforms for pajamas

NEW ROCHELLE -

The Ursuline School in New Rochelle ditched uniforms for pajamas this Friday.

The students collected more than 700 pairs of pajamas and books to be distributed to Westchester children in need.

Organizers say something so simple can help comfort a child who needs it most. "One pair of pajamas could help one child in need feel more at home. We all take for granted what we have, so it's nice to help somebody else," says student Julia Durkin.

This is the second year Ursuline partnered with The Pajama Program, a national non-profit organization.
