Nassau and Suffolk police say 19 people have been arrested and 14 are in custody in a multimillion-dollar drug distribution ring on Long Island that led to deadly overdoses.
A total of $150,000 worth of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and pills, was seized as part of Operation Moneygram.
Investigators say the crew worked out of an apartment/stash house on Gladys Avenue in Hempstead to manufacture drugs.
Suffolk's district attorney says those drugs have been linked to at least three fatal overdoses on Long Island so far.
Suffolk District Attorney Tim Sini said the ringleader is 31-year-old Sheron Davis, of Baldwin. Authorities seized blenders used for mixing narcotics, a pill press, guns and ammunition, along with thousands of dollars in cash.
"These are drug dealers who are dealing drugs to other drug dealers. They're supplying dealers throughout the region. Suffolk, Nassau County, New York City. They are selling drugs from a variety of locations including from their cars. They're selling large amounts at a time. Hundred grams or more at a time. And they were competitive in terms of how much profit they were making," says Sini.
Sini said a 2018 Toyota Camry was customized with two secret compartments that were accessible with a magnet in the cup holder and the defroster.  Each trap was big enough to hold about 13 pounds of drugs.
Investigators say most of those arrested are members of the Bloods street gang.
Each of the defendants is charged with conspiracy in the second-degree, which is a B felony.
They face a maximum of 8 1/3 to 25 years in prison if convicted.
