AAA awards Norwalk police for outstanding work

NORWALK -

The Norwalk Police Department has been awarded by the American Automobile Association for outstanding community traffic safety efforts, the department says.

Officers at the department received plaques for their achievement in traffic safety.

Officer Chris Wasilewski, of the Norwalk Police Department, was also named a AAA 'Traffic Safety Hero.'

The Bridgeport, New Canaan, Darien, Greenwich and Ridgefield police departments also received similar awards from AAA. 

AAA officials warn motor vehicle-related crashes spike during the fall and winter when daylight fades and it becomes darker earlier.
