The Westover Magnet Elementary School contaminated by mold will soon be moving its students and staff into an office building.
Officials say they are not quite ready to share where that office building is, because they are still negotiating the contract, but they hope to make the announcement by Tuesday evening. They are also hoping to have the new facility ready in about a week.
Officials announced last week that the school will remain closed for the rest of the year.
Tractor-trailers currently sit outside of the school, a place for decontaminated items to be stored while they are tested for mold.
At a special meeting Monday, plans for the 700 students, teachers and staff were announced.
Officials say the school will be moved into an undisclosed office building, currently called “Site B,” adding there is a 90 percent chance the facility can be ready in a week.
Students are off for Election Day, and then will spend the following three days on a variety of field trips. Officials are hoping to have an open house at the office building on Veterans Day.
