Video captures armed robbery at Brentwood pawn shop

An armed robbery at a Brentwood pawn shop was caught on camera.
A man wearing a hood and motorcycle helmet entered EZ Cash Pawn Shop around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Dayanna Perea was behind the counter when she looked up and saw the barrel of the gun.
"I tell you, I was so scared for my life, for everybody's life because there were six people in the store," says Perea.
Video shows the robber smash the jewelry case with his helmet. When he could not break the glass, the suspect climbed over the case, slid open the door and pulled out three trays of gold chains worth $10,000.
But a quick-thinking worker in the back of the store turned the tables on the robber, using his remote key to lock the front doors of the store, trapping the suspect while Perea called 911.
The suspect swung his helmet at the door, but eventually gave up, ditching the helmet and trays of gold. He climbed on some boxes and managed to escape by breaking a door panel.
He fled the scene on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. They escaped empty-handed.
Perea says she hopes video evidence will help police put the suspects behind bars.
