Background: McCord, 66, of Glen Cove, is running on the Democratic and Republican party lines in the general election. He is seeking re-election as a city judge for the City of Glen Cove, a position he won in the general election in November 1994. He has been the supervising City Court judge since 1995. McCord is also a partner and practicing attorney in the Bankruptcy Group at Certilman Balin in East Meadow and Hauppauge, a practice he joined in 1999. McCord was appointed associate judge for the Glen Cove City Court in 1988, and served through 1994. McCord had private general law practices specializing in bankruptcy in East Norwich from 1988 to 1999, and Glen Cove from 1981 to 1989. McCord has served as a Chapter 7 Panel trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of New York since 1987, and a Chapter 13 Trustee from 1981 until 1992. McCord was chairman of the Glen Cove Housing Authority from 1985 to 1987. He was deputy mayor of Glen Cove from 1980 to 1983. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University in 1977, and earned a law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1980. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1981. McCord is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
