Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down three people wanted in connection to a robbery of an elderly woman inside her own home.
The incident occurred Thursday around 3:40 p.m. and was caught on surveillance video.
According to police, the suspects posed as utility workers to get into an elderly woman’s home.
They say the two men knocked on the door of the home near Ocean Avenue and Oriental Boulevard.
Investigators tell News 12 an 88-year-old woman answered the door and the two men told her they were there to check her utility issue inside the home. However, when she let them in officials say they demanded money. They stole $2,500 from her before taking off in a dark pick-up truck that was parked nearby and driven by a third person.
The woman was not hurt.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
