Far Hills steeplechase horse race to be held this weekend

The 98th running of the Far Hills Race Meeting will take place this Saturday, Oct. 20.
The race delivers on its long-held promise by pairing horse betting with its work-class steeplechase races.
Far Hills will have its one day of wagering under Monmouth Park's pari-mutuel license.
New Jersey Transit announced options for people traveling to the races this weekend. There's special rail service between Hoboken and the Far Hills station, which is across from the site of the event.
The special service will run on the Gladstone branch of the Morris and Essex lines.
The races are known for their rowdy atmosphere among spectators.
Authorities announced that they will be cracking down on underage drinking at the event.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s office will be teaming with the New Jersey State Police to check IDs. Anyone caught drinking underage will be charged.
All races will be under the supervision of the New Jersey Racing Commission.
