Firefighters in Bayonne rescued a dog that was stuck in a basin at a water treatment facility.
The facility is owned by SUEZ Water. Employees says that they heard the dog barking when they came into work Wednesday morning.
Firefighters used a ladder to get down into the water basin and pulled the dog to safety. Roscoe, an older puggle, was found curled up behind a pipe in the tank.
“What an experience. This is my dad’s [dog],” says Drew Adelung. “My dad went into the hospital and the dog got out and we started searching for days…I would like to thank everybody involved.”
The dog was checked out by a veterinarian and is said to be OK.
The water treatment facility itself has been out of commission for years.
