Flyers from a neo-Nazi group attacking Gov. Andrew Cuomo were found outside Orange County Community College in Middletown.
Authorities have since removed the flyers from white supremacist group Identity Evropa.
"Freedom of speech? Not in New York!" read the flyers, with an illustration of Cuomo and the group's insignia.
Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano says flyers were also found inside college buildings.
"My intent is to expose and take the hoods off the heads of these rotten little people," he says. "The major offense is believing they can come into our community and spew hate, anger. And all they are is a bunch of cowards.”
The attack is allegedly in response to a probe ordered by the governor this summer to look into the group's papering of their posters throughout the Hudson Valley, including Croton, Spring Valley and Port Chester, as well as near SUNY Purchase and Westchester Community College.
SUNY Orange students say the presence of the flyers is alarming, regardless of one's opinion of the governor.
DeStefano says placing flyers on public property such as utility poles is illegal.
Cuomo called the flyers hateful and vowed to "not fold in the face of anger."
