Fire department comes to rescue of kids stuck in a tree

(AP) - Firefighters came to the rescue of two adventurous children who got stuck in a tree in central New Jersey.
Middletown officials say Braden Tolas and his stepsister, Davela Dente, climbed up the 30-foot tree on Sunday. But the 11-year-olds got stuck on their way down due to slippery and breaking branches.
Braden tells the Asbury Park Press that he used his cellphone to call his mom, who quickly called her husband. He went over with a ladder to help them, but eventually called 911 when he realized the kids were up higher than he could reach.
Firefighter John Friedmann says the children were calm and listened to everything firefighters asked them to do.
Braden and Davela say they aren't planning to climb trees in the immediate future.
