Pine Beach police officer's home destroyed in fire

A fire destroyed the home of a Pine Beach police officer on Ship Avenue overnight Friday.
Officials say Officer Russell Okinsky's mother, sister, brother, nephews and two of four dogs escaped the home.
Okinsky was on duty in Beachwood during the fire.
Two other dogs, including Okinsky's K-9, had to be rescued.
The K-9 was injured, but is expected to make a full recovery. The other dog didn't survive their injuries.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the family believes it was electrical in nature.
The family had already lost another home to Superstorm Sandy.
The Pine Beach Police PBA is taking donations to help the family.
