Squibb Bridge closed for repairs for over a month

Residents say they aren't happy that the Squibb Bridge has been closed for repairs.
The foot bridge acts as a direct connection between Brooklyn Heights and Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Brooklyn Bridge Park temporarily closed the bridge on July 16 after a piece of wood was found to be in poor condition.
A preliminary stabilization measure was installed on July 31, and officials say that engineers are now assessing the condition of the rest of the wood.
One father says he has to roll a stroller up and down a hill and across a main road in order to reach Brooklyn Bridge Park.
“Definitely an inconvenience, we thought it be much quicker, especially in the summer when it's hot. You definitely don’t want that extra walk,” said Pete Carritory, from Brooklyn Heights.
For some residents, they say it's the latest frustrating chapter for the foot bridge, which reopened in 2017 after being closed for three years.
The park says it’s working to reopen the bridge as soon as possible.
