Trump's Hamptons visit causes traffic gridlock

President Donald Trump's visit to a Southampton fundraiser Friday afternoon caused a traffic nightmare.
Within minutes of Trump's arrival at Francis S. Gabreski Airport, roads along the presidential motorcade were systematically shut down. And because the route was top secret, motorists said they were unsure of which way to go.
Airspace was also restricted, backing up chopper riders heading to the East End for the weekend.
Southampton streets near where the presidential luncheon was being held seemed to take the brunt of the traffic tie-ups. There was a severe bottleneck at Hill Street and Moses Lane.
Seasoned Hamptons residents said it just seemed like a typical mid-August Friday for them.
Some shopkeepers say the president's visit was a boon for business, including a deli owner who filled an order for several hundred sandwiches for the Secret Service.
