Boogie Down Bites: Fish N' Ting

A Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx is bringing island vibes to the borough.
Fish N' Ting on Boston Road has wood decor, ropes and lights which give it that outdoor and home feel.
It may be uptown in the Bronx, but many say it makes them feel like they're in the Caribbean.
"People here love the islands so they come here for a taste of the islands," owner Mrs. Franklin says.
Franklin who is known to her customers as 'Mom' says she enjoys what she is doing.
"I like cooking and entertaining so I wanted to bring some of the Caribbean vibes to the neighborhood and that's why we're here."
Some of their popular dishes include steamed fish with okra, carrots, and pumpkin. She says all her dishes are cooked with traditional Caribbean spices.
Franklin says customers can wash down their meals with rum punch or carrot juice which is made fresh daily.
