Police: Woman seriously injured in crash on LIE

A woman is in serious condition after three-car crash on the Long Island Expressway.
The incident happened in the westbound lanes at exit 57 around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The highway was closed for four hours.
Police say a man driving a minivan hit a woman driving a Ford Escape. The Escape then hit a Hyundai Sonata.
The woman driving the Escape was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The man in the minivan and his 2-year-old son suffered non-life threatening injuries.
No one else was hut during the incident.
