A man accused of murdering his wife in Stamford last month has reportedly taken his own life.

The attorney for Allen Claxton says the 75-year-old died from an apparent suicide in his home.

Claxton appeared in court this week, where he entered a not guilty plea in the murder of his wife,Eden.

Police say that after allegedly killing his wife, Claxton had tried to commit suicide, but was unsuccessful.
