Kids and staff members are helping to celebrate a major milestone for Camp Anchor in Lido Beach.

Camp Anchor is celebrating 50 years, so campers created special anniversary socks during their arts and crafts classes. John, from John's Crazy Socks will choose the winning design next month.

"We're going to have a pizza party and the socks will go to production," says Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony D'Esposito. "They'll be on his website and there will probably be a sock of the month in the coming months."

Camp Anchor is a yearlong program with a special six-week camp during the summer.
