Rocks painted with inspiring messages for a teen with cancer vanished from Cos Cob Park in Greenwich Sunday.
Steven Sudell, 14, took comfort from the rocks while in hospice care as he was being treated for brain cancer.
Over the past month, people have painted dozens of the rocks. The largest weighs about 50 pounds and features a cardinal, the mascot of Greenwich High School.
Organizer Christine Kraninger says she noticed that all of the rocks were gone. Steven’s aunt says the teen and his family are sad to have lost the hopeful symbols.
She also says she hopes whoever took the big rock brings it back or posts a photo of its whereabouts on social media.
