State police say a 19-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning.

It happened around 9 a.m. in the area of Loop Parkway and the Meadowbrook State Parkway.

State police say Zachary Jay, of New Hyde Park, may have been traveling too fast around a curve before losing control of his motorcycle.

They say there are no signs of skidmarks on the roadway to show he was slowing down before he hit the guardrail.

Investigators say once Jay hit the guardrail, he was ejected into a wooded area. His motorcycle slid onto the roadway.

Police responded after a passerby called 911.

Jay was a volunteer firefighter in New Hyde Park.
