Police: Woman fatally stabbed on East 233rd Street

Police say a woman was fatally stabbed Wednesday afternoon inside a Wakefield business.
Officers responded around 2 p.m. to MNI Security Specialists Inc., located at 888 East 233rd St.
Police say co-workers found an employee unconscious and unresponsive with a stab wound to the neck. They say they believe a screwdriver was used in the attack.
The woman was taken to Montefiore Medical Center and pronounced dead. Police identified her as 45-year-old Wanda Rios.
News 12 is told that a nearby day care was temporarily put on lockdown.
Police are seeking 45-year-old Idris Abdul-Muhaymin in connection with the stabbing. They say he's a black male with brown eyes and black hair who's 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing glasses and a red cap. A person with the same name and age is wanted in connection with a June slaying of a man who won the lottery. Police would not confirm if it was the same person but said they're looking into a possible connection.
There was no word yet on a motive.
Editor's note: Previous coverage had stated the woman was shot, not stabbed.
