Police apprehend man accused of cutting off pregnant wife’s arm

Police have apprehended a fugitive upstate who is suspected of severing his wife's arm in Brooklyn last week.
Yong Lu was on the run when the NYPD caught up with him in the Niagara Falls area Saturday.
The 38-year-old is accused of cutting off his pregnant wife's arm in Sunset Park on Thursday.

News 12 is told the NYPD Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Lu on the American side of Niagara Falls just two days after police say he cut off part of his wife's right arm above the bicep with a kitchen knife and severed two of her fingers on her left hand.

The gruesome incident happened at the couple's home near 55th Street and Fifth Avenue in Sunset Park.
Doctors were able to reattach the 35-year-old woman's arm, though it's unclear how the incident has affected her unborn child.
Now police say they are in the process of bringing Lu back to the city, where he will be fingerprinted and charged.
