Schumer pushes back against border policy blame claim

United States Sen. Charles Schumer is pushing back against President Donald Trump's claim that Democrats are to blame for the policy separating families at the border.
The so-called new "zero-tolerance" policy at the Mexican border was reportedly implemented just a few months ago. Members of Trump's cabinet said it's not the current administration that created it. Trump has blamed Democrats for the breakup of families in a tweet.
"It wasn't happening when Obama was president and it wasn't happening for the first year and three months," Schumer said. "What happened was, Stephen Miller, his immigration adviser, decided to change the policy. They could reverse it tomorrow."
Schumer said that no one should enter the country illegally, but he says families should not be separated while the judicial process plays out.
