Police: 1 person dead after Mott Haven shooting

<p>One person is dead after an overnight shooting in Mott Haven.</p>

Police are searching for two men who they say fled the scene of a fatal shooting in Mott Haven Friday night.
The incident happened at 300 East 143rd St.
Police say they found 22-year-old Cheyenne Carter unresponsive in front of a building around midnight with two gunshot wounds – one to his head and one to his stomach.
Police say Carter was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
News 12 is told the victim has had nine prior arrests.
Further information surrounding the incident was not immediately available.
