Bridgeport police are continuing to work toward their goal of increase their force.

City officials announced the department is still accepting applications from people with a high school diploma, that are at least 21 years old and have no prior felony convictions.

The department has received over 300 applications so far.

"Not only is it an honorable position, but it's one that can contribute in so many ways to the improvement and quality of life in the city and in our neighborhoods," says Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim.
