Eversource updated customers Thursday afternoon on their restoration efforts, saying just under 60,000 customers are without power.
Crews came in from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and even further to provide aid to those that still don't have power over nearly two days after Tuesday's storm.
Eversource's President of Regional Electric Operations Craig Hallstrom says more than 100,000 customers have had their power restored since Wednesday night.
Eversource is now focusing on 17 communities that have large outages, most of which are located in Danbury, Brookfield, Monroe and Newtown.
Tree removal crews say their job is a catch-22 because lines can't be fixed until the trees are gone, but the trees can't be removed until power is cut to the lines.
One Brookfield tree removal worker, who says he has done this job for 38 years, says Tuesday's storm was the worst he has seen in the area.
Hallstrom says they are hoping for full restorations in some areas anytime between Thursday night into Sunday.
